Is it possible to deactivate users in LDAP integrated with JIRA?

Hello there,

We are using LDAP as user management for JIRA, and we learned it can cause problem to delete users within LDAP.

What about deactivating users within LDAP? Is it ok to deactivate a user who has created or commented on an issue, or been assigned to issue?

We appreciate your advice.

Regards,

As long you don't delete the user (meaning the account still exists in LDAP) it's fine to have them active/inactive.

Also if you have mixed user management (e.g. JIRA internal groups + LDAP for users/pass) you can also "disable" user by removing him from any groups he's assigned to (so that he doesn't have permsission to login).
