Hi

Is it possible to export single issues (with specific fields) to a pre-defined MS Word template?

The reason is that we should be using jira to populate forms, that other systems will use and currently that is a manual process of copying from the jira issue to the Word form.

My colleagues who are using Xray have a superb form for test results and this exact process is working well for testing reports.

Is this possible for just issues themselves?

thank you so much in advance.

Hi - thank you for that but unfortunately we do need .docx because further edits might be made to the doc.

Our test team have doc generator, which is a plug in for Xray (I think that is a thing!) and I need something similar.... is that possible?

Hi @James_Noble

Welcome to the community!

What you’re likely referring to is Xporter.

The Document Generator you mentioned is actually part of Xray, and is based on Xporter technology. It’s available only within the context of Xray.

Xporter as a standalone app is your best option, it supports exporting any issue type and can be customized to your exact needs.

Best,
Francisco

@James_Noble I don't know if "docx" is strictly required for your use case, but if PDF would also work, then the Better PDF Exporter supports custom templates and it enables exporting fields selectively.

You could maybe just export to PDF, then copy-paste to Word, if that is a hard requirement.

(This paid and supported app is developed by our team. Free for 10 users!)
