Hi,

I'm asking if we can have an epic progress in the jira dashboard and for each new jira related to the epic the the progress of the epic will be changed.

Any idea?

Thanks & Regards,

AH

Hi @Akli HAMRAOUI

In the previous message, BigPicture was mentioned. Let me explain in a few words about the possibilities of tracking epics in our plugin. The Scope/Gantt module is a customizable task list. Using these modules, you can freely arrange columns, switch between views, and show aggregated values on a parent level.

Please note that there are 2 calculated fields: Time Tracking (Spent) and Time Tracking (original). You might use time tracking to measure the progress of a project or its phases in the Scope or Gantt chart modules. Calculations are based on the Jira’s Time Tracking fields (Original Estimate – Remaining Estimate – Time Spent). The key point here is that BigPicture (and BigGantt) are capable of aggregating time logged to low-level elements, such as sub-tasks or stories.

Could you have a look at my pictures below? The first one displays epics and all its children, and the second shows a more high-level view focusing only on aggregated data for epics. Notice how the epic in the screenshot aggregates the progress of the attached stories.

Hi @Akli HAMRAOUI

You might want to try out the server addon we have built just of this purpose.

Agile Tools - Epic Tree and issue Tracker

It will provide you the below features

  • Sum up your Epic's Time Spent, Original Estimate, Time Remaining, and Percent Complete
  • Display and manage Sprint/Epics/Issues of your project
  • Edit Issue summary, time estimates, story points and assignee on the tree with real time updates in the progress
  • Rolled up percentage completion and at issue level as well

Hi @Akli HAMRAOUI ,

there are a lot of apps that can show you roll up of progress.

Some have their own views like Advanced Roadmaps, Big Picture or Structure, and some make an extra custom field that can be added to your existing dashboards like Epic Sum up

Good luck!

Tessa
