Is it possible to remove the Comment section from Web request body on an Automation Trigger?

ray.mcmanemin September 13, 2023

I am trying to see if the Jira Cloud - Automation Trigger configuration has some way that during an event type like "Issue Update" that the "Comment" field can be dropped from the "Web request body" payload when you are using the "Issue data (Automation format)" option?   The issue we are seeing is that when a ticket continues to have ongoing comments added to it, this payload will continue to grow and can overwhelm Fire Wall rules that are checking for a restricted number of passed parameters.

@ray.mcmanemin The only option I can think of is using "Custom data" instead of "Issue data (Automation format)" that way you have full control on what you want to send using smart values. I don't think you can exclude parameters when you choose issue data.

Sayed Bares ...thanks for the quick reply and confirming what would be possible next steps we would face if have to go this route of customizing the payload.
