For Eg:

I have created US-100 in RS board in RS-CL project. I would like to share the same story in IVR Board in Auto Project. Is it possible?

Hello @gkannan

Just as mentioned before, an issue can not be added to two projects at the same time, however, you can display a specific issue in multiple boards from multiple projects, in case you are talking about Classic projects. Allow me to provide you with further details:

Today, Jira software Cloud provides two types of projects: Classic projects (Kanban or Scrum) and Next-gen projects (Kanban or Scrum).

The boards allocated in Classic projects display the issues based on a filter. By default, this filter return only the issues of the project where the board is allocated, however, it can be edited to include issues from other projects as well.

To edit the board filter:

  1. Navigate to the related board > Click on the three dots icon top-right of the board > Board settings
  2. In the general tab, click to Edit filter query, properly configuring the JQL query to return any issues you want, including from other projects

Now, the filter of boards allocated in Next-gen projects cannot be edited. Basically, Next-gen projects are simple templates that do not allow many types of customization, so the board will always display only the issues related to that project.

P.S: Jira software Server only have Classic projects and it works in the same way as Cloud, so you can refer to the first part of the explanation above.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi gkannan,

It is possible to have a single issue appear in two boards, but it is not possible for a single issue to be in two projects. Change the filters for each board to include the necessary issues. Cheers!

I think you are asking if the same issue can live in two projects; if that is your question, the answer is no.

That being said, there's ways to keep tickets "in sync" with each other. The easiest I can think of would be to build a rule using the 'Automation' plugin. The logic would be "When issues with a "duplicates" or "is duplicated by" relationship sees a change to one of a set of fields, update the same field with the new value in the linked issue.

Hello,

Unfortunately this is not possible, a story belongs to a single project. However, you can copy or move your story from one project to another.

Keep me informed if it helped or not,

Guilhem
