Is there a easy interface to view Epics by Component?

I've been digging into reports, gadgets, plugins, and I don't think there's a simple view that shows the 'progress' of all Epics (grouped by Component) for a given Sprint.

'Progress' in our case would probably mean tickets started/In QA/Done since we aren't rigorous across teams with story points, and this might be a reasonable proxy/visual.

The point is to get an instant, high-level, current state of the Sprint/Component view. I'm hoping I don't need to write a gadget or plugin for this myself.

Use the "Single Level Group by Report".  Create a filter for your sprint, and then group by epic-link.
