Is there a way for users to update their info in Jira and have that update AD?

A client has an AD instance that is lacking a lot of info. It would be great if users could enter their info in Jira and update AD.

Is this possible?

I maybe be wrong, i believe pure Jira has the ability to update AD from its normal fields, i.e.

You will need write access to the AD

I never tried it, but someone passed this information to me. It might be wrong

Look at Active Directory Attribute Sync

It has some post functions that allow updating AD.
