My organization is trying to create a report that will show a holistic view of work being accomplished across multiple programs. Is there a way to build a report that does this? or another way to do this without a report?

The breakdown of the structure we have in Jira is as follows:

  • 4 programs
  • Each program has approximately 5 portfolios/plans
  • There are at least 3 projects/initiatives in each portfolio/plan

Now we need an "enterprise" type of view that shows a holistic view of work being performed under each program for our CIO and other leadership.

Hi @kle1047

As @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ mentioned, BigPicture is able to respond to your needs. Our plugin allows organizing your project portfolio according to your preferences (no matter what or how many methodologies you use) and generating reports tailored to your needs.

I encourage you to see our blog post focusing on approaching structuring your portfolio and how it corresponds to the requirements of different members in the hierarchy of your organization.

I rest at your disposal in case of any further questions.

Best regards,

Hi, @kle1047.  Natively, in Jira, no. If you want to look (report) across Jira projects you'll need to have a look at:

Each of these does what you describe (among other things).

Note: I work for ALM Works, the makers of Structure. I'm biased of course, but I can tell you objectively, those are the three solutions most commonly compared for this sort of thing.

Good luck. I hope this helps.
