My team has been expanding the scope of our use of jira and are hoping we could create a second row on our kanban board for a specific set of statuses. I have not been able to find an option to do so but I imagine it is supported. Does anyone know how this can be setup?
Hi Eli - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You can create Swimlanes (rows) on your board based on JQL. So theoretically, you could build Swimlanes based on statuses.
However, that is not a common practice as your columns represent your activities and therefore, your statues. That is why statuses are mapped to columns on a board.
What is the real question that you are trying to answer/perform?
Hi @Eli Neiman
If you mean like a product Kanban board, which could show multiple workflows on one board, the answer is no for Jira (as John and Warren have indicated). I have only seen a few tools that can do this, and one is a physical Kanban board on a wall. :^)
If you need visiblity across the different workflows, consider:

Hi @Eli Neiman
I had actually started answering this question and then reread your question - you want to have another row (what Jira calls a Swimlane) for specific statuses? The statuses are the columns on the board, but you want any issue that is in a specific status to be in a different swimlane?
I'm not sure that you can do that. Possibly if you expand your question with more details of what you're after and why, there may be an alternate way of handling it.
