I made an automation to copy whatever comments I enter on the subtask level onto the parent level. Im wondering if is it possible to make an automation to like say

Scenario:
I edit the comment on the subtask level

Outcome:
1. Edited comment is added to parent level

2. Comment that was previously added to the parent level because of the other automation is deleted

Is this possible to do in Jira?

Hi @Grace :D

This might be possible, but it could be somewhat complex.

Can I clarify the logic here, as a good first question - why would this be needed? Why couldn't a user just view the comment in the Sub-task?

there were some users who commented that they are often times unaware that there are comments commented in the subtask as they dont check the comments at the subtask. And while I think I could add an automation to send emails when comments are added... there are users who comment that they dont want to have too many emails coming in as well...
