Is there a way to block an open ticket getting linked to a closed ticket?

Trying to prevent this from happening in workflows.

For your new question. Maybe if you used workflow properties to make the close issue un-editable, that might work. But that could have unintended consequences.

If you have Automation for Jira, you can set a rule to trigger on "Issue Linked" and have it send you an email.

Hello Samuel,
First of all I recommend you to seek the conversation with your colleague/employee.
Besides that: Isn't there a way to block this linking on an administrative level? Why should you be able to link open issues with closed ones? Could you explain the use case please?
