Is there a way to set the Description field back to a fixed width font when in editing mode?

When editing the Description field on a JIRA issue, the text used to be fixed-width. It looks like they recently switched this to use the same font as when in display mode. Is there a way to make this continue using a fixed-width font?

Unfortunately, there is no current way to switch this back, as it was a global platform change. I added an improvement request for Jira to add this back:
