Is there any way to hide certain lanes on a board?

Irene March 2, 2018

The implementation of boards on my side is developer specific - so each dev has his/her own board.

I want to hide the testing lanes from their view. Is this possible?

The boards are set up on the Kanban scheme.

Alternatively, is there a way to set a lane to automatically duplicate a task on a certain board? For example, once the task is dropped in testing it instantly duplicates the task on a testing board?

Thanks!

What are the testing lines for you? Status?

What do you mean by duplicate the task, make it appear in another boards or clone the issue? it is easy to make the first, because boards works wit filters. Just make the second board filter some condition to show issues in "testing" and not the others.

Hi Cristian,

What are the testing lines for you? Status? - the status of the lane is "to test" - I had to improvise with my implementation of the Jira board at my company. We do not use Jira in a set way. Each developer has a board. The board consists of several lanes. One lane is "testing" - the ticket is picked up here for testing by QC. Fixes are then tasked as sub tasks.

What do you mean by duplicate the task, make it appear in another boards or clone the issue? - Yes it is easy to make the first, because boards works wit filters. Just make the second board filter some condition to show issues in "testing" and not the others. - I will try this.

Thank you!

You can try one of the following options:

1.  Updated the board filter not to display the tickets in testing status.  This will hide the testing tickets from the dev view.

2.  Create a seperate board for testing with appropriate column mapped to the right status. Dev will see only the tickets with testing status.
