Hi,
To give a bit of background, I have created a template project in Jira. The projects we work on all follow the same process flow, therefore the template is deep cloned and is used/applied to all of our other projects. I have created an issue type for each task in my template project as they will all have different custom fields which I have created which need to be filled in by the project manager.
The issue I am having is that when I deep clone the project, my issue layout for the cloned project is not the same as the template project. The custom fields I have created move from description fields (as it is in the template - which is correct) to context fields in the clone (which is incorrect) as the issue layout, please refer the '🔴Sales Lead' field in the images below.
Correct:
Incorrect:
For each custom field, including 🔴Sales Lead, I have assigned the context of the field to the relevant issue type to ensure that they are only applied to that issue type. For example, the 'Project Initiation' Task seen in the above images is the issue type 'Project Initiation Issue Type' and so on.
I have checked the Issue layout and it is correct in the template, but changes in the clone, please see below:
Template (Correct):
Clone (incorrect):
I cannot determine the problem which is causing this, if someone is able to help that would be greatly appreciated. My deep clone settings can be seen below:
Hi, @Ruben Ribeiro - welcome to the Community!
Deep cloning is not a native Jira function, so if you're running into issues with the functionality of a plugin, you'll need to contact the vendor for support. I'm guessing it's this one; if so, you'll want to create a support ticket on their service desk.
