We have a Server running Jira Software Version 8.14 and Confluence 7.10. That server is running in subnet X. In a DMZ in subnet Y we have a Server running Jira Service Management 4.14.0 based on Jira Core 8.14.
All instances have application links between each other, so that references should work.
Application Link Status in Service Managment to Jira Software is fine. Connected in Both directions with OAuth Authendication.
In Confluence i am able to Add a jira filter which shows issues form the Jira Software Instance and it also shows Issues from Jira Service Management.
However i am still not able to Link issues of Service Management with Jira Software and the over way round. Only the local project issues of the jira software instance are shown on jira software and only the local project issues of the jira service management instance are shown in service management.
Is there anything i am missing to make linked issues between Jira Software and Jira ServiceManagement working?
I am Administrator in both instances. The same credentials are used on both servers.
There seems to be a difference between linking issues und linking issues ;-)
If i follow the explanation here (To an issue on another Jira site ) it works.
So linking an issue only seems to work by going the way "MORE-->LINK-->Choose correct server-->Link issue"
What does not work across instance borders it to create or edit an issue and link a service management issue in jira or vice versa with the fields given in the Edit/Create mask. In there only issues from the own instance works.
For me this issue is closed. If anyone knows of a possiblity to link an issue from another instance directly while creating an issue please let me know as it is a littly more comfortable.
