Issue Summaries can Corrupt on screen changes

I'm working on an issue that is a subordinate to another issue (a story's subtask, an epic's story). You see the bread crumbs across the top of the project / story number / sub-task number. All nice and normal.

I click in the Summary field, opening it up for editing (say, to copy the text). Then click on the story's bread crumb across the top of the page. The screen updates to the selected issue/story.

However, the Summary field is still showing open, and it is still showing the Summary of the subtask. Unless I notice this has happened, and instead click on something else (such as to add another subtask), the Story's title will now magically change to the sub-tasks text, without any warning or indicator it has changed, unless you happen to notice it reads differently.

Am I the only one seeing this annoying bug? It's been going on for months, and no fix in sight. It's hard to imagine this is intended functionality.

This appears to have been reported as a bug with Atlassian. You can vote for it here;

Clicking on the Summary of a child issue will copy the value to its parent when navigating back through the breadcrumb
