I have 2 projects in Jira. They both use the same 'RYG' custom field that tracks if issues are in Red, Yellow or Green status.
I have an automation in one project that looks for anything that is overdue by 2 weeks and turns the RYG status Yellow. If it is overdue by 4 weeks it turns RYG status field Red.
The automation works as expected in the one project. In the 2nd project I input similar logic, i get issues when the query is validated, but when I run the rule it tells me no issues found. I am at a loss. Any ideas?
Thank you all. It was a permission issue. I used an AD Group as the Actor in the automation. Everyone in that group did not have permissions in the second project. I needed to create a second AD group consisting of admins with access to the other project.
This helps me from not being the Actor or change agent when the issues get updated.
:)
As Trudy already told you, it would be great if you could share your rules with us. The JQL could validate, but it could return 0 issues. Is this what happens? Knowing that little I can only guess..

Hello @Jackie Klass
When asking for help with an automation rule it is very helpful to us if you show us the entire rule, the details of JQLs you are using in it, and the Audit Log for execution of the rule. There are a few reason why the rule might not be working depending on the trigger you selected and how you configured the steps.
