Hello,
I'm in a company-managed project with multiple boards and when we try to create issues they are not shown in the Roadmap but they are visible on the board. Even that I choose the board and the epic, it's not shown in the roadmap. The error we get is : "Your issue xxx has been created but is not currently visible because it does not match your board filter".
I've checked the filter permissions and they seem to be ok. However I don't think this is related to filters as the issues are visible on the board.
1. I tried different browsers and is still the same.
2. My colleagues are experiencing the same issue
3. This doesn't happen for all the users.
How can I solve this?
Many thanks,
Brinkela
You said you had multiple boards for this one project. And you said
when we try to create issues they are not shown in the Roadmap but they are visible on the board.
Can you walk us through the steps you go through when creating the issue? For instance...
1. Navigate to the project and choose board "Embedded".
2. Click <which one of the multiple options to start creating an issue...>
3. Set the Board field to Embedded
4. Save the issue.
.... get error message?
... review the board and actually see the issue just created?
... click the Roadmap option in the in the navigation panel and don't see the issue there?
Providing screen images with each step would also be helpful.
Yes these are exactly the steps :
1. I navigate the project and choose board "Embedded"
2.
2.1. I go to the embedded roadmap and I try to create an issue from there. Set the board field to embedded and define the epic field
2.2 I am in the Embedded board and I create the issue from the "Create" button in the page, I choose the board and define the epic
3. Save the issue
4. I go the error: Your issue xxx has been created but is not currently visible because it does not match your board filter
I go to the board and the issue is there but doesn't have an epic (I emphasize here that I'm sure I defined the epic when creating the issue)
Since there is no epic in the created issue, the issue is not shown in the Roadmap (In the Roadmap option in Navigation panel)
But this doesn't happen when I create an epic itself in the same steps as above. The epic is created and it's shown in the roadmap.
It happens only for other type of issues.
Best,
Brinkela

When you say you "define the epic field" do you mean the Epic Link field? Can you provide a screen image of that field within the Create Issue dialog?
Are you working with Scrum boards or Kanban boards?
If you are working with a Kanban board, when you look at Board Settings > General do you see a subfilter defined?
If so, are you setting values in your newly created issue that would cause it to not be displayed because of the subfilter? Even if you are not, can you try an experiment of removing that subfilter to see if that resolves your issue?

Yes when I say I define the Epic, I mean the Epic link. Attached is the screenshot.
I also removed the subfilter, but it doesn't resolve the issue.

I'm not sure what is causing the problem, but I have some more questions.
Is the Epic in the YUMN project?
Are there any Automation Rules that are being executed against the issues right after they are created? You would be able to see that by clicking on the Rule Executions field in the Details panel of the issue.
Can you possibly show the create issue screen showing the selected Project, Issue Type, Epic Link, and Board dropdown fields selected, then show the same issue after creation so we can see those fields?
You mentioned that it doesn't happen for all users. Are the uses for whom this doesn't happen doing something different?

Hi Trudy,
Yes the epic is in the YUMGMT project and there are no automation rules against the issues.
It doesn't happen for all users. The steps to create the issues are the same but the users that don't face this issue are project administrators, So only the users with member role have this issue, but as I mentioned before this doesn't happen when they create epics.
Attached are the screenshots.
Thanks,

I think some information may have gotten garbled with all the questions I've asked. I know I've asked a lot of questions. Thank you for your patience.
Just to loop back on some of the questions and answers...
You are viewing the Embedded board, which gets issues from the YUMN project.
You are creating a child issue an issue in the YUMN project.
What is the type of the issue you create? Is it a Story or Bug or Task, or a Subtask, or an Epic?
You set the Epic Link and set the Board [Dropdown] field to Embedded
The issue you created does display in the board you specified in the Embedded.
The issue you created does not appear in the Roadmap that goes with the Embedded board.
You said above "the epic is in the YUMGMT project ". The filter you showed for the board shows issues are selected from the "YUMN" project. Was one of those project keys a typo in your message or are the Epic and child issue really in different projects.
Can you possibly provide screen images that show the Create Issue dialog for the issue you are creating, including the selected Project, Issue Type, Board [Dropdown] and Epic Link fields?
Can you then provide a screen image of the same issue's details after creation?
Can you provide a screen image of the board, showing the created issue is displayed there?
Can you provide a screen image of the Roadmap, showing the created issue is not displayed there?
I think I will have some questions about the permissions allocated to Project Admins vs. the Member users, but I want to make sure I have the above details straight first.

Hello @Brinkela Selima
It seems that the issue is with the board filter. Would you mind sharing some screenshots with your board filter?
