I have a few users that will enter in my Jira space, but I wanted to them to have a limited access in our Jira Software and Conflunce. Atlassian already have a feature that make users as guests for Confluence but for Jira I dind´t find this option.
So I started to search the Jira permissions configurations and I saw that in team-managed projects, when you go to the option "People"/"Access" you can make that project particular/private, but in the company-managed projetct i didn´t find this option.
Can someone help me with this?
Heya @T.I JustForYou ,
So for the company-managed projects, permissions are managed in the project settings -> permissions where you can manage which groups are associated to each project. By default the project will already be restricted to who it's shared with but if you want to allow more users, you can do this via the "people"! If you need further information on how to use permissions effectively in company-managed projects, then please refer to the following documentation:
I hope this helps & please let me know if you have any other questions!
Kind Regards,
Ashley Hudson
For team-managed projects, you can indeed set the project to private and manage user roles directly from the "People" section. But for company-managed projects, the options are more rigid, and that's where it gets frustrating. In my experience, I found that creating a separate project just for the guests might help. You can customize that project’s permissions and limit what they can see or do. It feels a bit like managing a shared workspace, where you control what everyone can access. If you're looking for more examples or even best practices, the German company register is a solid resource. They have guidelines on how organizations set up access and privacy, which might give you some insights to apply in your Jira setup.
