JIRA Agile: How can I move stories or bugs into closed sprints?

Hello,

I have some items that were closed in the backlog outside of sprints. I am cleaning these up and was wondering if there was a way to move items out of the backlog into their perspective sprint.

I remember reading that it could be done (some where on these boards) but have been hard pressed to find it. When I open sprints and try to search for older sprints in the drop down none return; only current and future.

Any help would be appreciated.

"One way is to temporary add the Sprint field to the edit screen, and add the id of the sprint in the sprint field for the missing story. But it will not be included in the sprint report as that already has been generated. But it included if you search on that sprint in the issue navigator" @Annicka Rosengren

I don't know if this is the right way to approach this though.
