JIRA/Confluence Snapshot

Brad Beaver February 2, 2012

I was curious about the proper way to take a "snapshot" of our current JIRA and Confluence setups. Basically they are fresh installs and JIRA/Conlfuence is new to us. We wanted to be able to take a snapshot of the current fresh install and start going down a path using them. But have the ability to have a "Stop! Let's Start Over." kind of moment. I have taken a backup of the current databases in MSSQL and did the XML export for each.

Is that pretty much all I should have to do if we have a need to rollback in the future?

Thanks.

Once you start adding data, you can still do the snapshot thing in the same way, although you must make sure you grab the attachments as well!

Just to be safe I'd take a filesystem back up of the <home> and <install> directories as well, but that should be it.

Andrew.
