Hi Team,

For Atlassian Tools,  we are MSSQL 2014 Database.

Now, Our team has started to Migration One server (Old) to Another Server(Old) MSSQL 2014.

Only Server has changed copied and placed the Atlassian tools db in New Server.

Now, It's my turn. I have to update the New Server DB details in Atlassian Tools.

i'm thinking to update the new server details in dbconfig.xml.

is the only way or any other way or should i update any where?

after update, restart and start. is it okay or any other way?

Hi @cmbollareddy

Welcome to the community!

You can also update the database connecting using the Jira configuration tool :

But a restart is always required.

I hope this helps.

Dear @cmbollareddy ,

I don't understand your setup in detail. Nevertheless, when you exchange the current used DB with another one (other vendor / other version) the recommended way is to export Atlassian Apps Data to backup files, shut down apps, restart apps with either modified dbconfig.xml or via Wizard from scratch and restore the previous data by using the backup files.

When you just exchange/renew the application server (new virtual server / new IP) and DB is kept (not locally installed), it's enough to replicate the file/folder tree elsewhere and stat the apps again. If the hostname has changed, this change needs to be populated.

So long

Thomas
