Hello All,
Is there a way in JIRA, without using any plug-ins, to generate a report of the issues that also includes the comments?
I've found the "subscription" of a JIRA filter and was able to schedule it to send an email in a certain time and day. However the "Comments" on each issue is not included and it is not in the "Columns" options.
Is there a way in the Subscription in the filter to generate a report of the issues that also includes the comments?
Or is there a way aside from Subscription in the filter, without using any plug-ins, that can generate and schedule a report that includes the comments in each issue?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
Unfortunately none of the standard reports will include comments. The only way I know which is built-in is the CSV export, it will include all comments if needed. But you would have to build a custom solution that will trigger such export, get the file and then send it to a subscriber.
And plugins are generally much more flexible in terms of generating reports, which comes with the price but you don't spend time developing your own solution.
However, I can see why Atlassian didn't include them into standard set: try to imagine how should look a report with let's say 10 issues (lines) where each issue has 5 to 20 comments. My best guess this is the major reason why comments aren't in the report.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
