When our employees are receiving Jira emails  they come from a previous employees deactivated account.

ie When we get emails from jira@xcm-mb.jira.com the sender appears as "Bob
Boberson (JIRA)"

Is there a way to change this? It is not a major issue but it does not look very good

Hi @Gordon Wallace

please check your mail settings as described in https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/configuring-an-smtp-mail-server-to-send-notifications-947184044.html

Specify the email address used in the 'sender address' (or 'from') field of notification messages sent by JIRA, unless overridden in a project configuration.
Only specify an email address for this field (e.g. jira@example-company.com). JIRA will use this value to construct the full 'from' header based on the current user ("Joe Bloggs (JIRA) <jira@example-company.com>").
To change the 'from' header, go to Administration > System > General Configuration and (under Settings), edit the Email from field.

Hope that helps!

Best wishes

Hi @Gordon Wallace,

you can change this in the administration section:

http://<your-jira-url>/secure/admin/OutgoingMailServers.jspa
