JIRA simplified workflow for Kanban - what should I do to show more statuses?

ranjith pr March 6, 2019

Currently I can't see my 7th status- I added in board settings , It shows in the last "Unmapped " column and not shown in the baord, though there is an issue in that status

It was showing 6 statuses in the Kanban board, but not the seventh-is there a limit in number of columns/statuses?

Hi Ranjith,

If you want your issue (in that new status) to be shown on the board, you need to map (drag&drop) the status to the column in the board's settings. Move the status it from the unmapped column to the column where you want it to be.

Also, I can confirm that Kanban boards can hold more than 6 columns:

well i haven't tried that many columns in a long time as i found it unwieldy. Are you asking to show the unmapped status in a new column and you have tried to add a column and cannot? You should be able to add a column in board config > columns and then drag the status into it. Alternatively you can move the status into an existing column if that make more sense.

Any new column I add (after 6) goes to unmapped in the board setting and is not shown in the Board .I tried to add an issue to the status (new column) , but it shows in unmapped category -why?
