JPT for JIRA performance testing - Queries

HI,

Can you please let me know what tool is recommended for Performance testing.

Can you please share info on details like

How is JPT different from say, JMeter, Gatling etc.

 Is it advisable to use JPT for recording the baseline values for the actions.

How to execute JPT

Where do we trigger JPT from ( from where JIRA is set up or web UI)

Currently JPT says its executed in AWS, can the same be used for AZURE. Would there be any modifications for the scripts required

Where do we specify the load in JPT  ( No:of users, Issues etc)

I did refer https://bitbucket.org/atlassian/jira-performance-tests/src/master/  , But if you could help me with the answers to the above questions, that would really help.

JPT is based on Taurus, Taurus is an open source project that generates reports and runs Jmeter and Selenium tests.

JPT can be setup on a standalone server https://bitbucket.org/atlassian/jira-performance-tests/src/efb7c4e079f791ab1d2a3399d8871dae50e4f932/docs/tests/ON_PREMISE.md

This details how to get it running.

I will add more later I'm currently setting up myself.......
