Jira Audit

Mel Brooker April 20, 2020

Hi, im needing to do an Audit on Jira to see what one of the users has been doing when they have been logged in.

Is this possible? I cannot seem to find a way to search for just a user, who i have disabled so they currently have no access, until i can see what they have done.

Thanks

Hi @Mel Brooker

Sorry the community didn't see and respond to your question earlier.  If you have already figured this out, please post your solution so others can benefit.  Thanks!

There appear to be no out-of-the-box JIRA features for audit...although several suggestions to add it. For other alternatives:

  • There are several marketplace add-ons, all of which have costs.  I have not used any of them so I cannot vouch for them.  Here is a search to review them: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=jira&query=audit
  • In hindsight, if you already have log parsing tools, you could set up a webhook to capture the JIRA log changes, and then filter by a user.  It appears that most things are reviewable for that approach.  Again, you would have needed to set that up before the user started taking actions.

Best regards,

Bill
