I'm new to using Jira Cloud for Excel, so please forgive me if I'm missing something obvious. I primarily use it to import data to Excel for various pre-existing filters -- using the "Filter" import type. However, for each filter, I have a different set of fields in which I'm interested. Is it possible for the tool to remember my field selection based on the filter I've selected, perhaps even by referencing the field columns selected for that filter in Jira itself? (I see I can reset the selection in Excel to my user defaults, but not those associated with the filter.)
For what it's worth, I use a different Excel workbook for each filter. So persistent field selection based on the workbook file, rather than globally, would satisfy my use-case.
Thanks!
Hello @Chad K ,
Thank you for the question.
If I understand correctly feature you've described is for each separate Filter to be saved together with the list of Fields selected for it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Currently Fields functionality works the following way: list of selected Fields is saved for particular Sheet. Saving takes place after data import is performed.
So if the list was changed it will be saved for the Sheet (and used during the next import) after data is imported with this updated list.
Same Fields list can be applied for JQL Query/Filter Import Types used on the same Sheet (it doesn’t change if Import Type changes).
Hope this helps.
Will be glad to assist if there are any other questions.
Thanks again
Kind regards,
Dasha
