Jira Database Schema - Modifying a View

I want to modify the View "IssueChangelogs" to add a few fields from the "Issues" table.   Do we need to request a job to take care of this with Atlassian or can an Admin Role handle this.

This is for that back end database.  I use CDATA JIRA ODBC driver and it works great but I would like to not have to link the "Issues" table if I can help it for performance reasons.

Thanks Help.

Hello @jriccardo

Can you provide a screen image showing the "issueChangelogs" view that you are trying to change?

Are you saying you have already successfully connected to the Jira database?

Your post tags indicate you are using Jira Cloud. That is the software-as-a-service product. Atlassian does not allow connections directly to the database for that product.

If you have successfully connected to the Jira database then you must be using the self-hosted version of the product - Jira Server or Jira Data Center.

In Jira click on the question mark button near your avatar in the upper right corner. Then select the About option. Share with us the information you see there.

If you see a version number similar to "9.12.8" Then you are using Jira Server or Jira Data Center.

If you don't see a version number, then you are using Jira Cloud, and connections to the database are not allowed.

There is no Version nbr so I assume we are Cloud.  I am using the CDATA ODBC driver for Jira Software successfully with Crystal Reports and Power BI

I have not heard of any tools that support connecting directly to the database for Jira Cloud. Atlassian typically does not allow or support that.

I found a Marketplace listing for ODBC Driver for Jira from CData. The app has been Archived and was only ever supported for Jira Server.

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1216650/odbc-driver-for-jira/version-history?versionHistoryHosting=server

If the view is something that you are getting from that app, as the listing says you might still be able to get support from the app vendor.

Hi @jriccardo

No there are no options to change a DB views, this as you don't have access to the DB.

Atlassian will not change the DB setup for your instance as its a SaaS product and customisations per client are not honoured.

If not convinced you could reach out to Atlassian Support
