Jira Email Notifications

I'm new to Jira and am the admin, logging most of the tickets into Jira. How can I set-up/edit email notifications for myself and my team. I don't want to get 15 emails every 2 min. Help!

I believe this is project-specific. You'll need to go into project settings and enter the notifications section. Also note, it's likely a shared notification scheme between all your projects.

Thanks Alec. I see the global notifications but is this for email or the the notifications that show up on your sidebar?

It's for emails. Could also be for the notifications on the sidebar but I'm not entirely sure.
