Hi there,
I would like to export all issues from a Jira cloud instance to another Jira cloud instance.
The issues should have
- Comments
- Attached images
- And the issue details such as description, reporter, assignee, Estimation, time spent.
If possible, a way to map the assignee/reporter while importing.
I couldn't find any solutions so far. Appreciate any help.
Thank you!
Hi @Dev
You can use the 'Export issues' option to export the issues to Excel CSV format. Choose 'all fields' option.
Generally, everything gets exported including the images/ attachments and the comments as well.
Then in the target Jira cloud instance, you can choose the 'External System Import' option in the 'System' settings (you must be Jira administrator) and select this file to import. The attachments/ images will get imported as well as this is a cloud instance.
Regarding the Assignee/ Reporter mapping, don't chose to map these during the import process as you can't choose specifically which tickets of Assignee A should be mapped to Assignee B. Assuming the project is already created in the target instance and the users are already added, you can use the automation rules to trigger when the ticket gets created. You can add the logic to check for who the assignee is in the source and edit the issue accordingly and select the appropriate assignee in the target project.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Vamsi
Thanks @Vamsi Kandala , For some unknown reasons, I'm facing difficulties to the get the image. They are in jira, but once I open they seem like an XML file. What am I doing wrong here...
