Trying to configure a Jira install to have it's home directory on a file server. Tried these approaches:
1. Updated jira.home in jira-application.properties with a mapped drive to the file server. Resulted in a Could not create jira home directory.. message upon trying to start Jira
2. Updated jira.home in jira-application.properties with a symbolic link to the file server. Resulted in a Could not create jira home directory.. message upon trying to start Jira
3. Updated jira.home in jira-application.properties with the UNC to the file server. Resulted in a jira.home must be an absolute path.. message upon trying to start Jira
So the question...is this possible?
Yes, it's possible but it's higly unadvisable. 1) should work.
