Hi guys! I'm curious if th jira - intercom app can send messages to user once the task on jira is closed or resolved thus there is no need for support to write to the user and update issue status manually

Unfortunately, the integration currently cannot do this. However, we are aware of this request and I have added your vote to our internal tracker.
I will make sure to post back here if we have any updates on this. At the moment it is not quite clear yet how we are planning to ship this feature. Our preferred solution would be to enable this through actions in Jira's built-in automation. However, third-party integrations to the automation feature are not yet supported so we might use another workflow post-function (similar to what's available to send internal notes) to enable this.
