Jira Issue with Subtasks Not Updating Issue Status

I have the following scenario:

US Story 123

- SubTask A

-Subtask B

-Subtask C

If 2 of the subtasks have completed status how can I configure the story to be In_progress status not at defined

For transitioning the parent issue(story, tasks etc..) based of sub-task transition, you need  JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions plugin.

you can try automation using Automation for Jira or ScriptRunner but there is no way to do this in default Jira built in features.
