Hi,

Is it possible on next gen KANBAN boards to see the time the ticket has been in a certain column? I know this was possible on standard projects. It would show on the board as dot icons

Hello Chris,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Next-gen projects were created to be more simple, so there are many features from Classic projects that were not implemented on Next-gen yet and one of the features is the time in column.

We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

Regards,
Angélica

Thanks for this, will pass on my vote

I managed to get something to help me, which may help someone else.

I added a new timestamp property to the tasks on my board. I then set rules to automatically set the timestamp on the ticket when it is moved on the board. This gives me a way of looking at the ticket and seeing how long it is been in a column

Regards

Chris

Hi @Chris Townsend

Time in Status for Jira Cloud by SaaSJet could be a solution for you.

This app generates reports of how long issues stayed in a specific status (column). It provides the possibility to view data as number tables or as charts and export them.

Also, using this add-on you can get status duration data at the single issue view tab.

Hello @Chris Townsend ,

Our team at OBSS created Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira app for this exact need. It is available for Jira Cloud, Server and Data Center.

Using Time in Status you can report how much time each issue spent on each status, each assignee or even each user group. (useful for calculating lead/cycle times and identifying bottlenecks in your process). You can also see the number of times each status or transition was used (very useful for inspecting things like reopen counts). You can also list the status entry/exit dates.

You can get sums or averages of issues, grouped by any issue field(s) you like.

You can produce reports based on the default 24/7 calendar or define your own business calendars with custom workdays and working hours.

All data can be exported as XLS, XLSX, CSV.
