Jira Plans and Hierarchy

Harold Alcalde August 22, 2024

Hello,

I have a jira data center instance and I'm trying to add a new hierarchical level. I want to add "Feature" between the epic and the story but it only lets me add levels above the epic.

I can add between the iniciative and the epic but not between the epica and the story.

Do I have to apply another configuration or can't this default hierarchical order be modified?

Thank you.

Hi Harold,

If this is a new instance you can you rename the Epic to Feature. Then create a new Issue Type and call it Epic. Then you can add that new Issue Type above the Feature.

But renaming will affect all of your current Epics - which you might want anyway.

You cannot add anything Between Epic and Story issue types, you can only add higher than Epic.
