Hi All,
Thanks for your help in advance.
I currently have Jira Software 3.9.2 enterprise version and I'm aiming to have a software upgrade done. I want to know the best approach, plus I have the following questions:
1. Can I have Jira Software and Jira Service desk simultaneously? Assuming there are 100 Jira Software users, if I want only 10 users to have Jira Service Desk and rest 90 will continue to have Jira Software, how can it be done?
2. If I install only Jira Service Desk, will I get all the functions that Jira Software does (apart from Bitbucket integration)?
3. How can I do data migration if I upgrade Jira Software 3.9.2 to the latest version of Jira Service Desk?
Thanks and Regards
Shriram
Are you referencing JIRA Service Desk (JSD) 3.9.2?
If so, you can have both JIRA Software and JSD running on the same instance.
After you installed JIRA Software, go to JIRA Administration >> Applications and install JSD on the same instance.
For the 10 users that you intend to make them as JSD agents, group them under "jira-servicedesk-users" user group that by default has JSD application access (JIRA Administration >> Applications >> Application access).
JSD can be installed and deployed individually, but it will not have the JIRA Software functionalities.
If you are planning to merge JIRA Software and JSD into one single instance, install JSD on JIRA Software instance, then export the JSD projects from JSD instance and import it to the merged JIRA instance.
Regards,
Kelly
