I would like to ask you about our project. Even If a task is assigned to me I can not change its status and also when people assign tasks to me I do not get email notification about it.

Hello @Veriko Maisuradze and Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The fact that you can’t change the status of tasks assigned to you usually means your user role doesn’t have the required permissions to modify tasks. Check with your project admin whether your role allows you to update task statuses.

As for the notifications, not receiving email notifications when tasks are assigned to you could be caused by your notifications being turned off or set incorrectly.

It's worth verifying your role and permissions with the project admin, and checking your account’s notification settings and email configuration.

HI @Veriko Maisuradze

Welcome to the community.

You probably are not in a role in the project or not in group in the system mentioned in the permission scheme on the project that allows you transition issues.

Notifications are based on the notification scheme on the project, if on assignee, set no notification goes out to the assignee no email is sent.

What type of project is this Jira, JSM and team or company managed?

If you are not a Jira admin, please contact the admin to help you out.

Hi Veriko
Welcome to the community.

What type of project are you working in?
Is it a team-managed project or a company-managed project?
To see this you will have to click on the 3 dots next to the project name and you can find this information at the bottom of the window that opens.

It sounds like it has to do with permissions.
The administrator of the project will have to change your permissions on the project.

Let me know what type of project and I take you through the steps on how to fix this.
