Hey guys,
My company just switched to Xray in Jira. It has an Xray Test Case Importer and I know how to import (create new) Tests out of Excel/ CSV.
But what I'm thinking about is, if there is any way to overwrite an existing Test with that importer?
I know there is the option of importing test steps when you search for the test and open the "import" menu, but the point is that i would like to overwrite more than one Test just like the way I create more than one with the Xray Importer, where I can enter a TCID and import more Tests with different summaries and steps.
I hope anybody can help me. Thanks!
Hi Stjepan,
We already have the following story regarding your feature request:
https://jira.xpand-addons.com/browse/XRAY-1592
This would allow you to update/overwrite tests using the Test Case Importer.
Please watch and vote for this issue.
Best regards,
Xpand Add-ons Team
Hi Jose,
Any luck with https://jira.getxray.app/browse/XRAY-1592 please, since it's been open for a year already?

This is for Datacenter/Server version of Xray.
Since the suggestion you mentioned (https://jira.getxray.app/browse/XRAY-1592) is for Xray DC-Server. Please check the suggestion, it is in status "Shipped" and the Fix Version is 4.2.0.
Any additional questions, please get in touch with Xray Support (http://xraysupport.getxray.app); we would gladly assist you.
Thank you.

@Rogério Paiva - Xray Xporter
I've just learnt that we're using the cloud version not the server version.
I gather that the cloud equivalent of the https://jira.getxray.app/browse/XRAY-1592 ticket is https://jira.getxray.app/browse/XRAYCLOUD-595.

I'll try, but I don't thing they have any options for that import, otherwise I would have already found anything in the net i guess.
But thanks anyway!

I think you can import with same test case id, it will overwrite the details.
Did you try importing with same test case id?.

Okay, let XRAY team know they may consider this as a feature request.
