Jira and Confluence connected to each other as trusted, getting connectException

Patrick Kelly March 13, 2012

Hey guys, I have a question here.

I have set up Jira and Confluence, and set them up as a trusted connection between them. When I create a new page and add a Jira Issue to then via the jira Issues macro under the "Insert+" menu. I'll put in the URL from Jira, I'll click on preview and I am getting a "connectionException". Can someone possibly point me in the right direction by chance? ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Changing HTTPS to HTTP in the URL of the XML search view fixed this issue for me.

Hi Patrick,

maybe firewall issues ?

Are the installations on diferent servers ?

Best regards

Thomas

Hey Thomas,

Thanks for the quick reply. They are on the same box, Jira is on one installation and then confluence is on the other. The confluence is a standalone installation if that makes any difference. It shouldn't from my thinking, but you never know. I am at a loss here for what this could be. I'll double check the rules on the firewall but I doubt it's that.

the server that Jira and Confluence resides on has two IP addresses attached to it. Jira and confluence are bound to each IP respectively. So I decided to check the trusted applications, when I added the IP of the JIRA server to the, I got this error:

Unable to retrieve the application's certificate: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

Would this be DNS related?
