We are about to embark on a project to move our Data Center environment for Jira Software, Service management and Confluence to the Cloud. Looking for recommendations on how best to go about this as well as recommendations for third parties who can help us with this implementation.
Hey Colleen!
My first recommendation is to read up on the Server to Cloud migration guide. This guide will answer many high level questions your team might have about the migration including tools used and a typical migration time frame.
As for third-party support, the company that I consult for, ReleaseTEAM, has years of experience on all types of migrations, including Atlassian server-to-cloud migrations. You can read more about ReleaseTEAM's services on their website.
Hello @Colleen Rush
With regard to third party support, I also work for a consulting company that has many years of experience with migrations of Atlassian products.
Praecipio is an Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner. We have a experience with all directions of migrations of Atlassian products, plus experience integrating those products with other products and services.
There are many potential pitfalls that may be encountered in these migrations depending on the size and complexity of your environment, the third party apps you are using, and integrations you have with other products. For instance, due to the change in architecture between self-hosted and Cloud, some vendors have not produced Cloud-compatible versions of their apps, or are not able to provide all the same functionality in their Cloud-compatible apps.
Having a dedicated team with extensive experience assess your environment for those pitfalls and provide you with alternative solutions will ensure a smooth migration experience.
