Jira configuration tool (config.sh) on Centos not working?

Hi,

To enable https only i want to start the configuration tool. If i do so using the /opt/atlassian/jira/bin/config.sh file on Centos 6 over CLI i get the error:

No JRE_HOME or JAVA_HOME environment variable is set - attempting to just run java command
./config.sh: Zeile 36: java: command not found.

I'm using jira standalone for Linux

Is it possible to install oracle jdk für standalone or will it interfer with bundle jre? (x11 forwarding to client pc (putty and x11 server on client) is no problem).

If it's noit possible to use jira configuration tool on cli: where and how can i setup https only (in server.xml)?

Answer accepted

You should just install the Oracle JDK in the system. It should not interfere with JIRA's bundled JRE. Then the script will work.

This does not work on Centos 7. Installing java jdk and setting java home will still not allow to use config.sh

Boris is right, but in case you want to edit the server.xml file directly, you can use this page as reference: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA051/Running+JIRA+over+SSL+or+HTTPS Cheers

what is the difference between setting 'https only' in Jira configuration tool and to edit the WEB-INF/web.xml for redirecting all to https? Will the http port be closed on tool setting, or it's just redirecting too?

ok with cfg tool and https only http Prot is completely disabled (so it's the preferred method)
