Jira customize CSS 7.4x

Please tell me with this software that there is a way to do simple basic css customizing.  basic fonts, font-sizes, google font includes, etc.  The interface is way to blah

There is an article that may make the customization easier titled Configuring the look and feel of your JIRA applications that can help you change the interface.

Another method I've seen used to customize JIRA is with an add-on called CUTE for JIRA.  Here is a link to their documentation to see if it would suit your needs.

In regards to an easy method to change the css, you can create a Suggestion at JAC and recommend additional options to the options that are currently present.  If you do that please post a link to the Suggestion so the Community can vote on it and add impact.
