Hi,
I need to create a Jira (cloud) dasboard and populate it with Assests source.
I can't find any gadged to pull information and put in the dashboard.
Do you know how to progress on this? Is this something possible?
Thanks
Humberto
Hi @Humberto Gomes! 👋
You're absolutely right — Jira Cloud dashboards don't natively support direct Asset (formerly Insight) views. Unfortunately, there are no out-of-the-box gadgets that pull data straight from Assets unless those assets are linked to issues.
If Assets are connected to issues via custom fields, you can:
Use JQL filters to surface issues based on asset values (e.g. "Device" = Laptop123
)
Display the results with native gadgets like Filter Results or Pie Charts
However, this only works if the asset data is already tied to issues. You can’t query the Asset schema or attributes directly in native dashboards.
If you're looking to build a custom gadget that visualizes Asset data (like servers with expired warranties or software with assigned users), the Forge Apps Generator developed by my team may be worth exploring.
It lets you describe your use case in plain English, like:
“Create a gadget that shows all laptops from Assets with expired warranties, grouped by department.”
Based on your prompt, it generates a working Jira gadget or app.
📌 Heads-up: It may not support all Asset schema logic yet, but if you include the right filters and display preferences in your prompt, it can often build a tailored solution. It’s especially useful for visualizing structured data that Jira dashboards don’t natively show.
As mentioned by @Eduardo Anflor - MindPro, Jira dashboards do not provide this ability out of the box.
I didn’t quite understand if you are trying to show issues with their associated assets, or just a list of assets themselves. If this is about issues, and if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would be easy to do with the app that my team is working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your work items (issues) that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your work item fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel, Google Sheets, Smartsheet, or Airtable. It also comes with a long list of advanced features, such as smart columns for asset fields, and dashboard gadgets to show your JXL sheets on your dashboards.
This is how it looks in action in the project page but the same could be achieved on a dashboard:
What I am showing here is sorting, grouping, summing up and conditional formatting by Inventory (which is an Asset custom field). This is really just one of a virtually infinite number of sheets you can build - it all depends on what data you want to see and drill into.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Ivan

Hi, @Humberto Gomes
Jira Dashboards do not provide this ability out of the box, so you need to look for a marketplace app to add this information. If you are open to that, I recommend Mindpro Graphy. I work at Mindpro, and I believe this tool can help you meet your main needs.
The app allows everyone to create dashboards very quickly, and it offers over 50 gadgets to choose from (including custom and asset gadgets).
The internal dashboards have a main filter you can use to bring data from all time or a specific period or project. Most gadgets allow counting the issues based on the filter, and other gadgets limit the displayed data as per the user selection (pre-defined). The internal dashboards are interactive, which means you can filter the entire dashboard just by clicking on a chart segment, for example.
There is an "Assets" template you can use to show all issues that have the selected assets:
I hope that helps.

Eduardo

Currently, there isn’t a built-in Jira Cloud gadget that surfaces Assets (Insight) data on dashboards, but you can track progress and join early testing:
In the meantime, third-party apps (eazyBI, Asset Studio, Assets Gadgets for Jira, JSM Assets Dashboard Gadget-Grid) can fill the gap. Once native EAP features reach beta/GA—alongside JSDCLOUD-12494—you’ll have first-class dashboard gadgets for all your Assets data.
Hope this helps!
Kind Regards
Utkarsh
