Hello,
for our Jira issues we created a custom field, called "Remaining story points", that we use to track the progress from the original estimate of a task. We use the standard field "Story Points" to store said original estimate.
We chose "Remaining story points" as Estimation method and so this field is shown as estimate on the issue card on our scrum board.
In the past few days we noticed that on the current sprint board at first the cards display our custom field, but when we hover on said card, this field is replaced by the standard field "Story Points" causing a bit of confusion in all the team members.
This first screenshot is what we see when we first open the board:
This second screenshot is what we see when we hover the mouse on the card:
Is this a know issue? How can we fix it?
Thank you.
Hi @Laura Bencini
Good day!
I tried replicating this on my test instance and did not observe the same behaviour.
I added the field "completeness" as the estimation method and thats what I see when I hover over the estimate number on the card
I noticed another community post that describes the same, that even after picking a custom field for estimation in board settings when you hover pop-ups/backlog cards still show “Story Points” (or what was previously configured).
So this seems to be related to this BUG that affects some instances -> backlog incorrectly says "Story points" when value of a custom field is select as estimate
And the work around is Using the system story points field to estimate.
