Jira migration. Instance A to Instance B

I am currently in the process of working on moving one Jira instance to another. Both on premium version. I know some custom fields won't transfer across. 

If I recreated all of the custom fields from the source instance into the target instance. Will that allow the custom fields data to migrate over smoothly? Or is it tied to a id associated with the field on the source side?

Please use "Migrate to cloud site" using this you're able to moved all the fields with the field values but this will not support Jira service management migration.
