Hello. I created some custom fields and I can add them to issue types in classic Kanban and Scrum, but not next gen projects.
Is that functionality you are looking to add at some point in time?
Hi @Brian Walker ,
You are correct Next-gen projects are self-contained and the fields that you created in Classic won't appear in Next-gens. In the mid-term we will be allowing users to create shared configuration from which associated projects will inherit configuration. This will allow you the functionality that you have today with schemes but without all the complexity, overhead and menu hopping.
I know that doesn't help you now, but I wanted to let you know that this is an important feature that we know you need and we will be building it.
Regards,
Nathan
Hello,
I am not sure if this feature will be added in the future, but you should configure issues types for each next-gen projects in the project settings -> issue types option.

I appreciate your answer.
I will assume for now that next gen projects will not get this feature in the foreseeable future.
To be clear, this is what I am talking about, though it sounds like you do understand.
Jira settings, Issues, Custom Fields
create custom field eg Bit Bucket link, type URL field
then choose a next gen project
Project settings, Issue types.
You cannot add your custom URL field.
You can in a classic project by adding the custom field to the screens used by the issue type.
Thank you for your assistance.
