Jira reporting

Hi

Does anyone know how to get more granular reporting out of Jira? At the moment I am having to use the widgets provided for dashboards and I can't find a way to for example change the type of graph to reflect the data I'm looking at. Also the Advanced search facility is very limited. 

The reports I'm trying to build are for Incidents its very frustrating.

Any help will be gratefully received.

Hi @Neil Stokes , it is hard to guide you here based on the limited information at hand. For sure the available gadgets it's not exhaustive by any means in the dashboards. There are a lot of different options that may or may not suit your needs. Specifically you could

• export data two Excel or Sheets and create whatever charts you desire or need
• Connect your instance with Microsoft powerBI
• Leverage a marketplace ad on app such as easyBI, Custom Charts for Jira, etc.

Now regarding Advanced JQL, what limitations are you hitting exactly. I find it to be pretty powerful.

@Neil Stokes if you go the Excel way and want to use all the Excel features, give a try to Better Excel Exporter.

It is much more powerful than the built-in export feature if you want to create ready-to-use like this one with a click:

in order to create more interesting reports, my suggestion is to try using EazyBI for JIRA (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211051/eazybi-reports-and-charts-for-jira?tab=overview&hosting=cloud)

You would need to use an app like eazyBI or Custom Charts for Jira or an external BI tool like PowerBI.

Share an example of a report that you want to build.
