Kanban board/issue type

Malinda Sands January 7, 2022

I'm expecting two issue types to show up on the kanban board: epics and features. Only features are displayed. I need epics as well. By default, epics and features should be displayed with two quick filters: Epics Only and Features Only.

In addition, we are tying to migrate data from server instance to this cloud instance but unable to migrate the data.  Can you tell me how to migrate the date from a server instance to a cloud instance?  Thanks.

Hi @Malinda Sands ,

Try this:

Board Settings > Columns > Uncheck Epics panel "Display epics in a panel in the backlog, and not as cards on the board."

Regarding server to cloud migration, please note this is not a straight forward task, you need to Asses, Plan, Prepare, Test & Migrate. Still if you want to explore, then refer Jira cloud migration assistant.

My suggestion would be to connect with one of the many experienced Atlassian Partners to help your way around.

Hi Malinda,

Epics usually follow a different workflow. And the statuses in that workflow don't line up with the statuses in other issue types - such as features.

So your board probably does not have the statuses used by Epics mapped to columns on your board.

Go to Board Settings > Columns to take a look.
