Atlassians licensing model seems to be aligned to larger teams and companies that have the financial resources to scale from 25 to 50 users. I am trying to purchase 5 additional licenses on top of the 25 I currently have active, but Atlassian tell me the only way to do so is to jump to the next tier of 50 or wait until my renewal date in 7 months to change from an annual to a monthly plan. Neither of those options are optimal given that we are a new startup and spending $1500 on licenses that we don't need is counter intuitive to good business sense.

I am wondering whether anyone else in the Atlassian community has encountered this issue and found a resolution. Please share your thoughts as I am unable to get in touch with anyone via phone and the email responses are far from helpful.

As a workaround, you may try to optimize the current usage of the 25 licenses.

Try to list users that might need to access the tool for view only or for simple actions like adding comments or Approving tickets (Managers/Supervisors), create a generic account for them and free up their licenses for the new contributing members.

You can also tell us more about your team's structure and members' roles to better recommend another approaches or tuning the proposed workaround to fit into your scenario without upgrading your license for the moment.
